Memories captured- art journal page

Hi everyone and welcome back to another monthly challenge on More Than Words blog:
For May’s challenge I had no problem with the subject of my project. I did an art journal page with the picture of my Dad. The time goes so quickly, people disappear and the only thing which stays with us are memories of them, of the life “before”. How good were the memories at the time when there were no photographs? How people remembered the ones they lost? I can’t imagine having no photo of people I love and lost. And every good photograph deserves a frame. This one I made by myself for my Dad, to keep one of my best memories of him intact.
I have used few metal embellishments (cogs, brads, buttons, etc), thread, gorgeous stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop- Specimens, some stamping with black Archival Ink). I added some embossing with Iced Enamels Tarnished Bronze and Creative Embellishments stamp- Distress Corner Stamp. The beautiful colors are Lindy’s Gang sprays: Azure Sea Asters & Sandra Dee Sepia. And the final touches- Metallic Wax- Rose Gold by Finnabair applied to embellishments covered beforehand with black gesso. Sentiment comes from 7 Dots Studio Hazy Day word stickers collection.
Hope you’ll play along with us on More Than Words!
See you soon!
Hugs, Asia
Beautiful page.
