Adding Texture to Scrapbooking Layout with Lindy’s

Hello everybody,
Today I am sharing with you my new layout I created for Lindy’s Gang and with Lindy’s Magicals, Starbursts and embossing powder.
I love working with Lindy’s products- there are so many ways to use them and I am still learning new ones:) Today I used them as sprays, as watercolors- with brushes, and I also rub one of Magical onto a cast (resin) surface!
When I’ve seen the photo of this beautiful, sad and probably afraid girl, I just knew I need to try to portray her story. I know nothing about her, yet I feel like she is so close to my heart. And this layout is all about this girl.
Let me show you how I created it in a short tutorial:
Firstly I covered the beautiful paper from 7 Dots Studio with a thin layer of Soft Gloss Gel to avoid the paper from warping. After drying I added a thick layer of Clear Crackle Texture Paste on the part of paper I will be working on, and let it dry overnight. That step is very important to get the big cracks going as heat drying will make them much smaller.
Next step was sawing the edges and 1/3 of the middle part of paper with my sawing machine. I love uneven edges and hanging threads:) Then I added some texture with modeling paste and a triangle stencil.
And the fun part begins:) I started with diluting with water fallowing Magicals: Ocean Breeze Blue, Caribbean Blue and Tibetan Poppy Teal. I dried the colors after each application and then added some more until I was satisfied with the result. I sprayed Afternoon Delight Denim towards the edges of my “focal triangle”, added some water and tilted the paper to let the paint run freely. After drying I used a brush to add Screamin’ Banshee Black– this Starbursts spray has gorgeous blue shimmer in it and I think it complements beautifully the colors palette that I’ve chosen. I also added some splatter with this spray and after drying, some more splatter with diluted Flat Magical- Sidewalk Chalk.
I colored the triangles chipboard with Afternoon Delight Denim and Ocean Breeze Blue with the help of a brush. Really simple technique and the effect is beautiful!
Next step was adding some stamping (Viva Las Vegas and Creative Embellishments stamps) and some embossing. To emboss small triangles I used Lindy’s Gang Purely White Embossing Powder.
I rubbed with finger Caribbean Blue powder onto the cast I used-it gave it a beautiful, uneven coverage and a gorgeous color!
At the end I added some embellishments with the help of 3D medium gel: microbeads, torn book pages and piece of gause colored with Screamin’ Banshee Black.
Here are few more close-ups:
