Kindness matters- Art Journal page

There is this Art Journaal- the first I ever made and it’s not even finished yet:) I come back to it rarely as my way of crafting changed and even though there are some pages I really love, there are also a lot which I am unable to finish. Yesterday I got a little upset, said to myself- enough, just do one page, and so I did the birdie/ leafy spread:)
There was a lot of fussy-cutting involved as I stamped the images of leaves ( Woodware Singles stamp) on mixed-media paper, coloured each leaf with Letraset AquaMarkers and added some glitter , than cut them out. Background was created with white gesso and black and violet acrylic paint (by Pebeo). At the end I added some more gesso just to tone down the colors. Then added some masking with PaperArtsy stencil (Mini Stripped Flower) and Distress Ink- Seedless Preserves. I glued the leaves onto the page and attached to them wooden bird cage with a little birdie inside (the cage was covered earlier with white acrylic paint). To attach it I used silver thread which hangs from the leaves. Then added some splatters of black paint and the sentiment I’ve printed out. I chose this particular sentiment because kindness really matters and we need to be good to animals, and birds, and each other:)
This is such a beautiful project! Love your leaves and the bird cage! Amazing colors and textures! Thank you for joining us at Stamps and Stencils! Branka DT
This is tremendous! The cutting was worth its weight in gold on this dynamic textural spread! I adore the colors you used and the bright, artsy feel of this project! Really perfect for spring. We are so grateful to have you join us at Stamps & Stencils. Hugs, Autumn
