Winter Wonderland

Today I made a photo tutorial for the winter/ Christmas tag. Still little over one month to Christmas, but then again the first snow had fallen already:) I love white winter and Xmas, even though it’s cold outside. Home is always warm, and that’s what’s important:)
I used a piece of sturdy cardboard which came as a part of some sort of package. Started with covering it with white heavy gesso by Pebeo (did not covered it completely, so the texture underneath is still visible and it adds more charm).
Next step was spraying it with Lindy’s Starbursts- Rudolph’s Nose Red, than spraying it slightly with water and just because the tag was not evenly covered with gesso, it did not get evenly covered with the spray, which was my intention. I used Snow Paste by Rico Design and spread it with a palette knife through The Crafter’s Workshop stencil- Holly Background. While wet I sprinkled some artificial snow by Fabrika Dekoru and let it air-dry.
While my tag was drying I took care of the embellishments: I covered some of them with layer of gesso (reindeer, pine cones, stars), and sprayed them with Rudolph’s Nose Red (all the time aiming to not get a complete coverage). Than I started to work on my composition- I added the embellishments, piece of wool string, gause, white string, then stars, snowflakes and die-cut elements.
I used Soft Gloss Gel and 3D Mat Gel by Finnabair to attach the embellishments to the tag (for the heavier ones I used 3D mat gel which will keep them perfectly in place). I have a small box of Deko Ice I bought last winter and I really love it! I glued it to the Christmas tree to give it some sparkle (the sparkle is more subtle then glitter). I used it on other parts of the tag together with artificial snow.
Again few more embellishments to build my composition- sequins, brads, Mini Art Stones by Finnabair and my personal Xmas favourite- small, white glittery balls which are normally used to decorate Xmas table:)
As a final touch I added drops of Glossy Accents by Ranger onto the small fruity parts of die cut branches and a sentiment from 7 Dots Studio Yuletide collection.
This is the final effect:
See you soon! Hugs,
Asia
