If you are lucky enough to be different, never change
Hi happy people:)
I made unusual to me art journal page. And it’s weird and lovely at the same time:) I wanted to incorporate in it beautiful washi tape from Jane Davenport which I got in a happy mail from my dear and super-kind FB friend:) I was struggling for a long time with it, not really knowing what to do. Then came along the challenge in Our Mixed Media FB group with imposed colors and suddenly all made sense to me:)
The focal point here are of course two washi-made women faces and I tried to build the rest around it. Firstly I sprayed generously Lindy’s Magicals: Luscious Lime, Hibiscus Rose and Pineapple Paradise. While wet I put empty side page on top of the sprays and I got the mirror image of colors. I used Prima Marketing’s stencil for the hair of the right- hand side lady (stencil #564278) and for the left one I used some cake stencil 😉 I mixed texture paste from Pebeo with Hibiscus Rose but at the end the color was too strong and I covered it slightly with heavy gesso from Finnabair. Stenciling in the background comes either from Paper Poetry script stamp or some of mine home-made stamps. To make a dress of the right-hand side lady I used my gelli print which was covered with Clear Crackle Texture Paste from Finnabair (I left to dry overnight for bigger crackles) and just after gluing it to the page I creased it slightly to give impression of creased fabric. Sides were outlined with watercolored black pencil and gesso and I did some scribbling as well ( got this idea and so many others from DeeDee Catron and her youtube channel:). For the finish touches I splashed some black paint, added Tim Holtz’ Small Talk stickers and did some doodling with x’s.
I am taking part in Our Mixed Media Moods challenge.
